A New Beginning

1 Year, 1 month and 2 days since the last post, so many things have happened since then. The day before yesterday marked the end of a journey that began 6 years ago when I was just a small boy fresh out of primary school entering into this new world of elite known as Anglo Chinese School. Hearing stories of elitism and snobbish people, I didn't know what to expect. However now 6 years on, having completed the IB diploma, I can proudly say that whatever preconceptions i had initially were all wrong and I truly enjoyed the journey and the friends who were there along with me. The elitism and snobbishness are just labels that others give to us when they misunderstand our confidence and school culture. But i must say there is a good reason for us to be confident because seeing the results of my 4th batch of IB students, we have smashed the records by an amazing margin doubling the number of 45 pointers and defying all odds despite "the students have more behavioral problems compared with previous batches" (Straits Times, 7/1/11, Acting Principal Fanny Tan). I would to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the teachers who were there along to help me along the way and also my parents who were supporting me all the way.

On another note, post IB resuslts has been really fun!!! Went to swensen to celebrate after results, celebrated with my pri sch friends over late night supper and also caught like 2 movies in the past 2 days which bring me to the important part of me trying to follow my friend's suggestion of reviving this blog by writing movie reviews. So i guess here goes nothing?

The first movie was The Fighter staring Mark Wahlberg (whom i somehow confused with Matt Damon from the Bourne Trilogy) and Christian Bale. I must say Christian Bale looks very different from the Batman movies not that we get to see much of his face anyway. But as for the movie, although it got some 4 stars in the Toronto film festival, I would say that it is very confusing and does not provide many exciting scenes that would put you in the edge of your seat. The plot chronicles the true story of a boxer who is on a journey to fight his way to the top with the help of his ex-boxing legend brother but along the way meets with many obstacles and has to make some hard decisions. The ending was as expected where he triumphs and succeeds in becoming a boxing champion. The boxing scenes were quite exciting as they were very realistic and with blood and all but not for the squeamish (judging by my friend's reaction). Haha. I would give this movie a 2.5/5 but I do not recommend you watch it because its not the kind of movie that appeals to all which coincidentally has a M18 rating.

The second movie was Meet the Parents: Little Fockers which is the 3rd movie of the series. I must say this movie was full of jokes and was a very hilarious one. It got my hugging my stomach in pain from laughing too much from the well timed and executed jokes by the skills of Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. The storyline was also quite good but as my friend noted had a slightly unrealistic ending when the wife forgave Gaylord too easily. However it was a barrel of laughs and i would give this movie a 4.5/5 and highly recommend that you watch it cause it is perfect for all ages except for the fact that it is NC 16.

Well I guess now after all the fun and games, I should get down to studying for my SATs which are coming up soon. On this note, I guess I am signing off and until next time... =D

Its the Holidays!!!

Ok so for most of you, half the holidays have passed but for me, the holidays have only officially just started. Although School ended like a month ago, I have been going back to school almost everyday to do my EE experiments and all. NOw that it is finally over, I kinda miss the daily sessions where I get to go back to school from 9-5 and meet my friends and have lunch together, bull shit together and generally have a lot of fun. Now that everyone has gone on holiday to like Hong Kong and like Japan or return home back to like Indonesia or the Philippines, I guess I have to deal with the boredom myself.

Anyways, the past 2 weeks have been rather crazy with me setting like personal records for things that I have never done before. Lets see, I watched like 4 movies namely Paranomal Activity, 2012, The informant and most recently on Friday the Twilight Saga New Moon. And there is also Zombieland which was watched at Mcdonalds at Crown Plaza. Haha. I think this is a personal record cause I usually watch like a movie a month max but now like 4?!? Then there are like the numerous trips to like Plaza Sing and Swensens and also the crazy night where I stayed out at the Merlion Park till 1 before proceeding to the Airport with my friends and stayed there till 6 to send a friend off to Hong Kong for his family holiday.(Hopes he appreciates us and buys us presents. haha. jkjk). There are also those numerous glutton sessions most recently Yuki Yaki where we stuffed ourself full with Bbq meat and like steamboat before topping it all off with Ice cream which we got to 'Fry' ourselves which was like very cool except for the fact that they were closed when we wented to go and get seconds so we ended up making like a cool man out nuts on the cold pan. I also ate like Mcdonalds for 3 straight days and also had like cheesecake at the airport at like 5 in the morning all of which are brand new experiences. I guess u could say that the friends are a bad influence on me but I would say that this is the best holiday I have had so far.

I would also like to take a brief moment to talk about my awesome birthday party. Haha. I would like to thank everyone who was there to spend that day with me. From the shopping/ cleaning session the day before to arriving early to help with the preparation of the food, I would like to say thank you very much. Then there are the presents ranging from the crystal with a drawing of the beijing olympic stadium ,shirt with drawings and writings on it, wallet which I went along to buy but was supposed to act surprise when I saw it and finally the delicious chocolate cake. Thank you guys for being such awesome friends and I will cherish the gifts even though it is highly unlikely I will wear the shirt in public. haha. After most of the ppl left that night, 3 stayed and we had like a movie marathon with shows like My sisters keeper and Shutter. After staying up till like 4 or something, we couldnt take it anymore and went to sleep before waking up at like 8 to go to church. We went to my friends church which is like located inside the cinema at Vivo! How cool is that? Anyway, going to church was quite a new experience but it was similar to the monday chapels that I have except that the Hymns are like more professionally done and the devotions are less boring. Anyway after that we went to Vivo and did some shopping before ending up at Starbucks where we stayed for 3 hrs or so just chatting. I would say these are the little things that I would remember for life.

Life isn't all about our studies or our grades although to a very large extent these would determine our future but I mean when we grow old, we wont want to remember like the atoms we learnt about or the differentiation, I am sure we would want to remember the fun and memorable experiences we spent with our friends. So I say to you, during this holiday, dont just catch up on work for the past year but take some time off and go spend time with your friends and do something fun. Go catch up with classmates you have not spoken to for a while. Take a day off and go out for a movie or outing. Life is too short, so make sure you Cherish it. And that reminds me, I have to go plan a primary school outing and also possibly get Christmas presents for my friends. So until the next post which is usually a spur of the moment thing, I hope u spend some time with your friends =D

Post Exams Mood

Ok. Lets give this blogging thing another shot. I havent blogged in a very long time partly due to the insanely crazy schedule I have in school and also because i am lazy. Anyway, was inspired to start blogging again cause now is after exams so got time and also because today my class went to watch Julie and Julia which was mostly about a girl blogging about her cooking experience and might I say that the movie got progressively bad from a good start to an unresolved ending so i would not advice you guys to watch it. Wanted to watch fame after that but there were only front row seats and not enough so sadly had to give it up. Anyways, today was one of the happiest day in my IB life in a long time because finally got to go shopping and do absolutely watever we wanted without worrying about our studies. Went to Ding Tai Fung at Wisma for dinner with classmates cause our chinese teacher highly recommended the xiao long bao there and i must say its quite ok costing $1 each and the shop having like 10% service charge + 7 % GST = 17% Tax which was exorbitant considering the service was very bad we were tempted to write a feedback form for them but decided against it.

Well, some updates about the exams... I think i did pretty ok for everything except for maybe chemistry which i am more or less prepared to attend concentration camp for which will cost like $200 per subject for a week of extra lesson then a retest. Theres also the english con camp which u will get into if u dont get like 6 points which i have a feeling would constitute at least half of the year 5 cohort so its practically like remedial except they make u pay for it. And if by some stroke of luck i do not make it into con camp, there will still be my extended essay to worry about. It is like a 4000 word report and i have choosen to do it on chemistry but currently i do not have a topic which is quite worrying considering that the trial run are like in 2 weeks??? That would mean that the whole of my November will be burnt doing my experiments and typing the report. And theres that TOK essay which i have to type which is like basically about philosophy and all which is like questioning our existence which is wat i am doing currently. I know i have been ranting on and on about how my life sucks and all and i am pretty sure its the same for you but take heart in the fact that there are friends who walk the same road with you. Classmates who encourage you, demoralize you, make you laugh, make you angry, they come in all shapes and sizes and considering that you will be friends with them for at least 1 more year, i suggest you make the most out of it cause i know i will walk out of this IB experience and the most important thing that i will bring along with me (other than the IB Diploma) is the friendship that i made along the way.

Anyway, on a happier note, I am teaching Indians how to sing 'Peng You' for a chinese karaoke competition and its quite cool. Tomorow dunno whether to go play squash in school, gym and badminton at jurong west or go play frisbee at sentosa. Have like a break from now till wednesday cause marking day and all so now i will enjoy the most out of it. Life is too short to worry about things, I will just take it one step at a step. P.s. Orientation

This week marks the official start of school after the o level students joined us on monday even though sch for me started on 19 Jan. Anyway, my Orientation Group(OG) has 7 girls and 20 plus boys. On Monday, our day started with chapel and then a Principal's briefing which lasted like 3 and a half hour and this is like the longest time i have seat in the Auditorium in my 4 years in the school. The principal also kept using the term blue ocean strategy throughout his speech which no one understood until he finally explained it and it is basically like breaking away from tradition and creating a new market which is demonstrated by the IB program. Then after the long, excruciating talk, we had a break and our orientation started. We had a very fun cheering session and also some fun Ice breaker games like a game called ping pong which is actually a finger game that tests one's concentration. we were also entertained by a very hilarious skit which depicted the difference between a Acs, raffles and Chinese high boy. It also went through the history of ACS from how Oldham and Thoburn founded the school to how a parents' questions about IB were answered. After that, we had telematches which comprised of each one in the OG taking turns to first shoot a green pea through a piece of paper, then transport a tennis ball on a plastic spoon with ur mouth, limbo under a danger safety tape, then go in circles 10 times around a pole, transport the ball with the stick to the end of the course and pick up a piece of puzzle which was actually a photo of our OG leaders while competiting with the other groups. In the end, i think my OG won thanks to one guy who took 4 puzzle pieces and another who took 3 when we were only supposed to take 1 each. Yesterday, we started the day with a briefing by our deputy principal on what the IB program is basically about and then we had a discipline talk by the student council. After that we had a a mass dance session which was damn fun cause we learned a dance to the music of disturbia by rhianna and the dance moves were damn comical. DUring the warm up, there were moves like milking a cow, plucking apples and pumping tyre and my personal favourite the Chernobyl kid which is a move where u put one hand on the back of ur neck while u let the other hand hangs loose on the side and you shake it around like a retard. We also had another session of Cheering which caused my voice to become a bit hoarse and after that it was the wet games which was damn cool. There were 3 games and each OG took turns to compete against each other and the games were minefield, twister and sock war. In sock war, we had to wear our sock and on a mat that was filled with soap and detergent water, we had to attempt to take of each others sock and it was quite funny to see the difference between how the girls played and the guys played.(P.s. The girls had their our seperate round and without any guys). Next, there was twister with a twist which was we were playing with sauces. So we had chilli sauce, kaya, oyster sauce, egg white and egg yoke so when they picked a colour and hand or leg, we had to put then at the respective postitions. Lastly, we had minefield where we had to like guess the path through the oponent's minefield and if we step on the wrong box, we were bombed with water bombs but in the end my OG still won. But the road to victory was not a easy one cause when we ran out of water bombs, some guy filled up a basin with socks he got from god knows where and poured it over one of my team mate who stepped on a mine. That was freaking disgusting!!!!!!!!! Today was damn boring cause got lectures and this will continue until next tuesday where we will continue our orientation. Anyway, tomorow got lecture on the various subjects and what combination to choose for students and parents so school will like end like 8pm!!!!!! I am totally not looking forward to it at all cause tomorow, school will be like from 8am- 8pm which is like 12 hrs!!!! The only condolence I get is that next friday we get to go sentosa for some ACSiting race which will last like the whole day. I am signing off here to go rest if not tomorow cannot last the long hours of lecture. P.S. xiu jin, I will go buy the lor mee noodles soon and see whether they taste as good as u say they are. :)

Back to School

This is like my first post for the new year so i start by recounting the first 2 days of school. Yesterday, everyone went back to school and gathering in front of the front office and meeting many friends whom i have not seen in close to 3 months was a great experience. We had some chit chat before we went for Chapel. There we were seated according to our Orientation Groups(OG) and i was in 12 which mean i was with some people like Archis, Palmer, Hafiz and Viet Anh among others but sadly our group had no girls Yet. I stress yet because the girls now are those who got in by direct admission so we still have to wait for the people who are applying for the school by the O level track to come in. So anyway, yesterday we had 3 lectures which were English which was basically the history of literature, Maths which was about the math of using probability in calculating your odds when gambling in 4d or toto and economics which was about how it applied to our daily lifes. Today was a more fun day cause we had this life skills talk conducted by the Adam Khoo Company(Brings back a lot of memories for those in my primary school) and the Trainer we got was like totally hilarious and he was like telling us jokes and sharing his experiences in relationships with us. On top of that, there was like 3 people from my OG group who were seated right in front and were like acting gay with each other and the trainer would like ask them why they were touching each other from time to time providing much comic relief. One of them also claimed that he liked Hannah Montana and when the trainer said proof it, he took out a pink colour Hannah water bottle. After that cool talk, my group B which comprised of OG 7-12 had to go to some Chinese Traditional Medicine Talk at Machpherson and it cost like $12 per person. When we went there, we were introduced to the basics like acupuncture, and massaging techniques and then there was a hands on session where he would demonstrate the techniques so he was asking for volunteers and one of the guy went up and the person asked him to take off his shirt and for some reason, kept pulling his underwear lower much to the amusement and disgust of everyone. Then he put some cups on the body which created a partial vacum which caused the flesh to swell up. Then we also had tea making competition where we had to mix and match different herbs to create the tea. Then my friend went to pour half a container of lou han guo into the tea and then it became like damn sweet. Anyway, tomorow got some stupid science competition where we have to make soemthing usable out of recycled materials so i have to prepare some newspaper and bottles. We also have to write like a 1000 word essay so I guess I'll be signing off here.

XMas Present Xchange

On Monday just had a steamboat cum xmas present xchange with the peeps from 6-5. Arranged to meet at geh poh at 730 so when i reached there, i saw clarie and his friend then after a while more wan zhen and li ping arrived. We went to buy drinks for the dinner then clarie go send his friend to the bus stop. After we finished, we waited for rui song who was supposed to meet us there. After many failed attempts at contacting him including one which consisted of both parties just saying hello to each other cause cannot hear each other, we finally got through and found out that he was at NTUC with gary buying plates and utensils. So we walked to guo wei's house and meet john on the way. When we arrived, we had a very scrumptious steamboat dinner which included shark's meat courtesy of Gary and also Roast Chicken. After the meal, we slacked around while the table was cleared and then we proceeded to have some fun and games. We played a game called chubby bunny which included everyone taking turns to stuff mushmallows into their mouth and saying the magic words chubby bunny after that. Then can the long awaited present exchange which was filled with gifts from action city including mine and we drew lots with names of the person whom we were getting our present from and in the end, i got a rather cute banana organiser from siyi and i have promised her to put it to good use so i will try my best. Then kai en had to leave early cause she moved to telok blangah and she was rushing for the mrt and according to clarie who was in constant communication with her after she left, she just made it on the last train. Class Gathering

This week, I had a class gathering with my primary 6 classmates and it was like organised by thomas. We were supposed to meet at Jurong Point at 1230 but I like Gym at 10 and then in the end got pushed to 1030 cause the coach had some competition the day before and hence was late but luckily I made it in time. Anyway, when I reached Jurong Point, I saw Wan Zhen and Liping and then shortly after Thomas came and I found out that he had invited like 15+ people to come but in the end only 8 people turned up. So we went to Marina Square and wanted to go to Yuki Yaki but then very long queue so decide to go Seoul Garden but same thing happened so in the end we had to settle for Breeks where I ordered Mushroom Pasta and we sat there and talked for very long. In the end, when we wanted to leave, we requested for separate billing so the manager had to slowly print out individual receipts so she took like 20 mins to figure out things and print out 8 receipts which was hilarious on one hand but environmentally unfriendly on the other. After that we went to some place where there were like many machines to grab soft toys and we saw like many people trying their luck. Then saw one guy with a girl with like 3 soft toys one of which is so huge one wonders how they managed to grab it. Then Yan ni wanted to try her luck but i told her about what I saw once on a show called "Brianiac" which showed that these machines were programmed to give a payout only after a certain number of tries and even then you needed some skill to grab the doll. What this means is that if the soft toy costs like $20, they will only give the doll to you after like $60 has been put in. So we are actually better off just buying it. Anyway, after that we decided to go find gary and rui song who were playing some game at the arcade and they were armed with some cheated which meant they could keep healing themselves. So we decided to walk to Suntec City to play at another arcade where there were basketball machines. After like a few games they gave up and it was just in time because gary and rui song came. Then we were having a hard time deciding where to have dinner so we went to the fountain and sat down to talk things out. On one hand, some wanted to eat Seafood while others who were not hungry wanted 'tau hui' but in the end we decided to go back to Jurong Point before we make up our minds. When reach Jurong Point, we decided to go for a walk and it is now like damn huge after it got renovated and now it has like a Starbucks and a Newyork Newyork amongst other stalls.We finally decided on KFC but the JP outlet too many people so go to another place instead. There we talked for very long before going to play basketball near Jia Hou Place but no ball so Rui Song had to go borrow from his friends. Then after like half and hour or so, we decided to go back. Then me and ruisong escorted yan ni to her block before we went home ourselves. Then I got a shock from eldric who smsed me saying that his dad was timing us for swimming the next day and my legs were aching but in the end still had to go. So the next day we went down to Jurong West Swimming Complex which has pool water which is salty and swam laps. Before I went home, ELdric showed me this very funny India Music Video on his Subtitles. Coming up, I have a XMas gift exchange with my primary school friends but I have not decided what to get. It has to be above $10 and should be unisex cause the gift exchange is random so anyone with ideas please write it on the tag board.Shall post more photos when Yan Ni decides to post them on facebook.

Afterthoughts after Fly By Night

I have finally finished the fly by night competition which is a 48 hour film making competition but sadly, our team was not one of the 10 judges choices. However, I would like to say the the overall experience was very fun. On the 28th, we went to 72-13 Muhammad Sultan Road which was freaking had to find because the place was actually on 72 Muhammad Sultan Road but the address they put 72-13, in the end i went to like 13 before going to 72. Anyway, after reaching there, we waited for like 15 mins before the whole event started. Then can the part where the theme was to be revealed and one of the organizers ms tan pin pin said, i know you are going to hate me but the theme is "X" and flashed a paper with the theme and everyone was like WTF????$^#%(*(... Then everyone was like given until 30th at 12noon to submit. My team went to the MacDonald nearby and were brainstorming while having dinner amongst other teams who too were thinking of what to do. Our ideas were very crazy and they included singing the ABC song and it getting stuck at X and changing to some beatboxing. Then after thinking for 2 hours, we decided to go back to our school and get our equipment. By the time we reached school, it was like 10 and we settled on filming near school and so we embarked on filming in places like in the clock tower(Which is supposed to be locked but never is for some reason) where it was quite scary at first and then when we reached the top, i stumbled on a box with some old stuff and in it was like booklets of ticket stubs from an acs concert in 1991... Anyways, we went back to edit and it was around 2 and then we decide to get some food from the 7-11 at dover market but the one problem was that the gate was locked. So we approched the guard and surprisingly, he was very friendly and even asked us how our filming was going and giving us tips. After that we went back to sleep at like 3 O clock and woke up at 9. By then, we were like 3/4 done and our trainer lena who by the way participated too called us and we like told her how fast we were done and she was a bit shocked. We went to K.A.P for Macs again... to eat and do some filming then we were back in school again and we received a call from ms tan pin pin saying some film council people want to come interview us but in the end we waited until 3 but they didn't come. So i went home to sleep from 5pm to 9am. Then today we had to go watch the screening of all the films and some very funny, some were gay and so were plain i dont get it!!!! Before that, i had Macs Again for breakfast like 3 times already and we found a cockroach near where we were sitting in the 72-13 venue. That basically summarizes all i did in like the past 3 days. Anyway, I have also included the video that my team did for the Singapore Digital Media Awards based on the theme Its playtime and so we did a video about Pakour which is about urban free running.

Its the Hols!!!!

After much persuasion from many people (Look at tag box for proof), I have decided to start updating the blog again. It has been like 1 month since the holidays started for me(Sorry for those who have O levels and PSLE whose hols just started), and every week i have been in like school for Mpac matters. Currently, We are in the midst of editing a documentary about Parkour(Urban Free running) for the Singapore Digital Media Awards. The final filmings just ended yesterday because the Singapore Parkour Association people can only make it then. Therefore, we officially have tomorow to finish our video and hand it up !!! On top of that, we need a teacher to help us register for the competition and our teacher in charge is like overseas!!! The other teacher hasn't replied yet so my team is like now in deep sh*T!!!!! After this is done, i still have a FLY By Night Competition which is a 48 hour film making competition on the 28th which is even worst than SDMA cause must edit film script conceptualize everything but at the end, out of 40 teams, 10 teams will each get $300 cash which is not a lot if u ask me considering my team got like 6 people!!! Now i just want to get mpac stuff done with so that i can start having a life!!! Anyways, our swimming instructor is like in hospital for operation and he ask us to like to train our timing and his programme includes swimming 50 laps so i think at the end of the holidays, i will look like an african or india with my massive tan. I am also waiting for my friend's dad to return from a oversea business trip so we can start on our kayaking lessons which is something i am looking forward to. Exams Are Over!!!

Today basically marks the end of the last paper. As they say, save the best for last and so indeed, the Advance Math paper did catch me off guard a little in terms of its difficulty but overall i would still say it was manageable. Anyway after exams today, I went with my 2.15 classmates to Lido to watch the movie Eagle Eye. It was like a fast paced action movie with Steven Spielberg as the executive producer. There was too much action all happening too quickly but all the electronics were damn cool. After that we went eat Burger King and on the way there, there were like 4 guys and 1 girl wearing some sort of mask on their face so they would be expressionless. It was damn cool as they were wearing suits and walking down orchard road with lots of stares from everyone. Following that, we went to the play LAN. The first shop we went to was filled with like people we know from our school so we decided to go to another one. The second,third and fourth one all rejected us because our birthday not passed or because we wearing same pants so must be school uniform... Finally, we found one operated by a kind auntie but when we tried to play C & C 3 over LAN, we couldn't cause the serial keys were all duplicates of each other. So we had to settle for battlefield and Call of Duty 4. By the time it ended and i reach home, it was like 1930 which is a freaking long time considering that my paper ended at 1000. Anyway, I am very happy that all my papers are over and holidays start in like 2 weeks!!! Cheers to all Sec 4 who do not have O levels cause now we can chill out and relax. Looking forward to the class gatherings after everyone's O levels. So for now, I just sit back and relax and chill out. Awaiting FPS results

I am feeling bored about school as this is like the last week before the 1 week holidays but it is also 1 month before the final year exams. I guess i have to start mugging soon especially like for physics and maybe maths cause all the year 3 and 4 topics getting tested... The whole of last week was probably the best cause for the whole week, we were watching the Olympics in class and through a careful angling of the tv, some teachers did not realize that the tv was on for like most of their lesson. My school also had a holiday on Friday because the rugby got a grand slam winning all the 3 respective divisions. Suppose to go to sentosa for class gathering but then damn sian so didn't go and in the end, even Terence went... Now i am very worried about the FPS and CMPS results which were supposed to be released at like 12 or so but now still waiting for Ms May Tan to send it to my teacher so that we will know whether we get to go to Australia in October for the finals!!!!!!! Today i just decided to blog under the encouragement of a friend who noted that i said in msn to check out my blog but it has not been updated for a long long long to the power of like 9014202347 time. These few months have been very hectic like the life science symposium having just ended. We were suppose to present about the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and my class' was about Universal Primary Education. I was the assistant in charge the books and we collected like around 500 to send to the children in Cambodia or Myanmar. However, the books are like now sitting in a corner of class rotting away. In the coming weeks, I have like so many deadlines to meet but thankfully few or no exams. With Projects like Geography Field Studies which requires me to like go to investigate some shopping centre and like count the number of people passing through the door to IHS which my group is doing about the Asian Financial Crisis. The list just goes on... Anyways, I was suppose to go film the Battle of the Bands in my school tonight but considering the fact that it ends at 1030 and i have the FPS finals at RGS tomorow at 9, I decided to skip it.(The power of an exco is unlimited ). Just got the FPS shirt today and it is quite nice but it cost like $14. The shirt got a bit screwed up because it say explosive ideas behind but is accompanied with a logo of that of a radioactive substance. Think need to go revise the FPS materials to stand a chance against the many RGS teams which in my mind looks like 1000000000000:1. But the universe has mysterious powers as seen from the senior team which made it all the way to US and win 4th in the world last year. I also found out about this hilarious website called Fail Blog and if you need a good laugh, well this is the place to go. It is basically photos of ideas which have failed badly. Heres signing off.

Today during Mpac, a replacement trainer came because Wai Kit is in the US. She is like so much better and has a better idea of what to do. She even motivated us to create a Facebook group for Mpac which is done. We are also in the process of getting starting with stop motion animation which is basically taking still shots and making it into a video. Some good ones can be found at svencentral.com and also one damn funny one is the mas selamat lego video that i have included. Anyways, these few days we are getting progress in CMPS after like slacking for 1 month due to exams. Now we have 1 month to the qualifying round and we need to chiong. I also have O'levels Chinese Intensive for this week and next week leading up to the exam. We practically do 1 exam paper everyday. The Chinese Intensive is held in the lecture theater and where my class sits, there is a lunch box with tua kua spilling out which has been there since monday or earlier and is giving out a foul odour. Hope the cleaner do something about it soon. Going back to afking and facebooking. :)P.S. Be patient with the video cause they rock!!!

These few days, I am having mixed emotions, on one hand i feel great because exams are over but on the other, i feel uneasy about the results that are going to be realeased on Friday and also the Chinese O Levels next week. However, there is one relief and that is I know that I got 4th in the level for Chinese exams, this has however increased the presure for me to perform as I know Wei Shuen will be neck to neck with me. Anyway, I am hooked on playing facebook and I recently added this game called Starfighter. Usually, the top scorers are like 100 sec but look at the retard's score today, its like 600secs!!! Today during Advanced Math, my teacher taught us like differentiation of log and exponential functions and when he gave us work to do, he ran out of space to write on the homework board. Hence, he did the surprising thing of cancelling out the language arts header and replacing it with his and this amused everyone greatly. My friend also created a song after we went through the physics paper 1 and it describes everyone's feeling.

This is my first post in like a long long time. Today marks the day of the end of exams, 1 week to the release of results and 2 weeks to the chinese O'levels. You can say i will enjoy all i can for now before judgement day comes. Anyway, I went Cathay Cineleisure to watch Iron man, we were suppose to watch 2 movies but because of the stupid chemistry lecture we had, we were delayed and ended up watching only one. Anyway, Eugene still went ahead to watch with Leah after we left. Anyway, theres this national Northstar VI event that i suppose to participate in because the sec 1 NCDCC I am in charge of is going. It like on a cruise ship and it simulates an emergency (For more details, Check out this Channel News Asia Article). It is like 3 days before the O'level. Lol. Anyway, today's iron rocked and it is full of action and comedy. Well, next week will be the start of a busy schedule with Mpac matters to settle and a lot of work in CMPS if we want to go to Australia. After the exams, I would say i did quite well except for language arts and physics. Physics was like the killer with everyone i know saying that they will fail, which includes those people i reckon as physics pro. School Tennis Finals

Taken on my Malaysia trip

Today i had this tennis finals at kallang and so my class along with around 3 other classes had to go because we had tennis players in our class. So we left class at 12 and we went to a job fair for half an hour. Then there was a DSTA stall which gave a file with foolscape and one friend actually took 3 of it. Anyway at the tennis match, there was RI, RGS and MGS playing. We were watching the match half way when it started drizzling then he became a heavy downpour. Everyone ran to the nearest shelter and we were soaking wet. Then they told us it has to be postponed to tomorow and we had no bus back to school. In the end we ran to the bus stop like 500m away to take a bus back to the school. IN the end, i was wet and cold and when i was on the train at clementi, my friends who stayed back on it too!!! They had wait around 1 hour for the rain to subside and then gone to another bus stop not getting wet at all! So i was a bit pissed. Anyway, today my ex discipline master came to the finals to visit us. He is a very nice guy and was like happy to meet all the prefects. Tomorow i have to pay $25 for book called "On his wings...Soaring" and it is about the 20 years history of ACS(I). They also gave us quite a nice collection of stamps which are supposedly going to be very valueable because only the school has it which would be around 2000 people... Tomorow i also starting my service learning project at an after school care centre to tutor a group of primary school kids. I hope they wont be roudy and will be fun to work with.

Yeah! I finally finished most of my projects and exams and now a bit more relaxed. Now left Chemistry and Chinese test only. Anyway, today i went for a 2 man CPR course which was quite fun as we had to change over after a few cycles. The course was like told to us yesterday but the teacher insisted we were told last week so like out of 28 people, only 10 of us turned up where the rest ponned. I think they are going to be like so screwed next week. Tomorow got to finish my homeowrk. Now going to afk. Signing out. :)

OK, Today i have another piece of news that is quite worrying. During Chinese which was a free period because my teacher went for the funeral, so only the chinese people were left. Then, one of my friends had this smart idea of playing golf with a bottle cap and a broom stick and so when he did a back swing, he unknowingly hit another student smack on the glasses causing it to break and glass to go into one of his eye. Then he said he could not see so we rushed to find the teacher and in the end he was sent to the hospital. But then a specialist removed the glass fragment and he is fine now. With all this bad things happening, i wonder what might happen next...

Ok. This is my first post in a long time but i dont have much to say. I must say that this year's chinese new year was amazing and i got to gamble blackjack with my relatives. I also got a lot of ang pow :) which u can say is my capital. Anyway, this week i am busy like siao. I have 2 projects, 1 report and at least 4 more exams all by next week!!! I broke my Rubix cube and i need to buy a new one. Tomorow got 听写 but lucky i study liao. Anyway, to update you about my cca, I am making a new jacket with a nice logo(maybe post pics when its done) and also we have lots of filming duty like one which was told to us today when the filming is tomorow on valentine day at 7-9!!! I also have to march for the school founder's day but i get to slack now because i am in charge of the sec 1s. Can wait for june so that we can step down from the UYO. Signing Off. :)

Today, U might say it is the most amusing, tiring and disgusting day of the new year. Well, we had like a 1hr 20 min period of PE which included tortures like 2 KM run, Push Ups, Sit ups, Crutches Jumping Jacks... This variety of toutures exhausted exeryone including those fit ones. Now the amusing part. After PE, we were changing in class when Ming Kai being the sick guy that he is decided to change in class which is usually fine except he decided to change his underpants too. So everyone was like trying to prevent him and someone even took a picture to deter him but he still did it in the end with little privacy. Now the disgusting part is that after changing his underpants, he walkedc around in it and stood before Chester and Michael. Well then someone with the name starting with N decided to play a prank pulling his underpants down and well he succeeded and michael and chester saw something that they shouldn't have. After that, the rest is history. :)

Funny Joke of the day : One day, a family decided to put their aged mother into an old folks home. They left her there and the nurse bathed and fed here and as a whole, took excellent care of her. They then placed her on a chair in front of a window with a garden outside. She sat there but then after a while, the nurses noticed she leaned to one side so they ran over and helped her upright. After another half an hour she leaned to the other side and they put her upright. This went on for the whole day and the family decided to check on their mother at night. They asked her how it was and she said " Oh, its quite fine except that the nurses dont allow you to fart" :)

Ok, This is like the first post after my Malaysia trip and all i have to say is that this is an extremely stressed WEEK!!! During the first 2 week0 of school, we did some studies. Then we went to Malaysia for a week and now when i return, I am told i have a test next week!! Anyway, the Malaysia trip was ausome as i visited caves and shopping malls and i also got to attempt the high elements and also visit some Myanmar refugees at a shelter home and they are very pitiful. My school had a project work thingy and initially we wanted to help them get bibles and basic nessecities but then the teacher in charge says must be local. So the idea has to be modified. Diao. ok, I hace decided to write my last post before the LDP which is between 12 -17. I will be going to Gopeng, Perak to have fun with high elements and other thing like rafting and cave exploration. There will also be a day trip to Mid Valley shopping mall in KL which i happened to go to during the decemebr hols. Anyway, about something amusing i saw yesterday. I was at pioneer mall having dinner with my family when i heard this loud thud and it turned out to be a guy who had fallen off his chair. There was like a whole 10 sec before a couple decided to go up and help him up. Then the staff called an ambulance and it arrived like 10 min later with like 5 paramedics. They talked to him for a long time and then just stood around which i assume is because theywere waiting for the injured person's family because he doesn't want to go the hospital. I didn't stay to watch what happen but when i passed by later, the ambulance was gone. I also have an holiday tomorow which the principal has kindly given to the whole school because the IB (which is taken in place of A levels)results were today and in the whole world our school was ranked the 3rd with the 1st coming from england and having an enrollment of 25 and the 2nd from australia with an enrollment of 9 which is a joke compared to my school's 367. Anyway, the highest points u can get is 45 and 9 out of 20 in the whole world came from my school. The school has also granted us an extra day of holiday before the chinese new year which is on wednesday. Yay to Hols :) Long night ahead cause no school tomorow. Haha.

Well i returned from my malaysia and thailand trips and have come back with quite a lot of stuff. It includes lots of t-shirt, shorts , a jacket, and a Adidas Shoe. Anyway, school is like less than a week away and i going to have to pack my school back. The only thing i am looking forward to when school reopens is LDP which is held in malaysia and will include heigt elements and flying fox i think. I will be like from 12 - 17 jan and like the whole sec 4 will be gone. the sec 2 and 3 will go to their respective places while the poor and noob sec 1 will stay in school for a whole week alone... THat was during mine time but now they have the year 5 and 6. Anyway, tomorow i have a Ncdcc meeting to plan for next year's training. I also have to finish the Exodus for the CHristian Fellowship to use for their promotional video. I also have to add a few finishing touches to the club promo video for our own recruitment drive. GOing to recruit some year 5s so everyone is quite hiped up. Gtg. Tata

I just returned from thailand and it was a very amazing experience. I went with my father's collegue and his family and we did a lot of shopping. I also got to ride the tutu and visit a show called calypsole which has "lady boys" if you know what i mean. I also stayed in an excellent hotel and has a night market near by. Yesterday, I had a class gathering at Taka at Orchard and it was to bid farewell to Kegan who is going to migrate to KL, Malaysia because his dad's company sent him there. After lunch at Seoul Garden, we decided to go play Lan which was at a cost of like $3.80 an hour!!! After that, it was like 430 so we decided to watch a movie but all was more than 2 hours so we called it off. Anyway, today i spent my whole day in Johor Bahru Shopping and i just returned home at 11 after having dinner with my father's friend and his family. I feel very tired after waking up at 730 today but tomorow, i am going to Sitex at Expo and i have to wake up damn early again.

I finally got a new phone after having to bear with my old one for close to a year. The next week. I have like 2 class gatherings and michael has gone crazy by arranging 7 mpac meetings back to back. I feel that i will go crazy soon if i keep going there and do nothing for 6 hours. Anyway, about the phone, there is a small lie that sony ericsson told. Today i went to vivo city to visit the Starhub customer service to upgrade my handphone plan so i can get a W910i. But then i ran into some problems because the promotion requires a new line to get a Television. SO i would probably be changing number soon. Anyway, I saw the Christmas tree on the roof as stated in 8 days. Its like 10 storey high. Anyway, i have mpac this whole week and we are making a promotional video to recruit new sec1 and possibly sec5. I also have to complete the Exodus dvd and although it was originally priced at $10, it has now increase to $15.90 due to the request of the Christian Fellowship teacher.

Well, the other day i went to watch the Lions for Lambs Citibank gala premier and it was quite nice except the ending was an anticlimax. Anyway, yesterday during the business attachment, i was attached to the operations department which is subdivided into Security, Housekeeping and Maintenance department. At the maintenance department, i got to see what happens to all the food that is wasted. It goes into a grease trap room and it is very disgusting . Anyway, today i finished my attachment and i am quite sad. There was a token fee that was supposed to be given to me but it was given to the year 3 director to be equally distributed amongst all the students which reminds me of communism. So i feel con as i slogged it out and got nothing. Anyway, i am going to post some pics to show you my humble workplace.

well today was the first day of the new week at work. I had a mpac camp on saturday and sunday and it was quite fun as we got to watch different movies. I , my friend kapilan and michael ong were supposedly choosing the movies but in the end, michael ong didnt take our opinion and just rent movies that had chicks such as John tucker must die, shes the man, aquamarine.... And then i also had my theory exam on sat and it was held at MDIS as queenstown. It was quite ok and its the second time i went there. Today was quite exciting as i had to go print logos and stick on the blueprints of Jurong Point. I also got to attend a meeting with the big boss and during the meeting, he was like praising ACS and how the meeting was like a board of directors meeting. Anyway, he quite nice and as he is from acs too. HAHA. I watch this excellent show on star world and channel five and it is little britian and The sketch show. The are both hilarious so enjoy... :)

The Last week of the school week was quite eventless except on friday. I was suppose to go watch a movie at the Omni Max which was a treat by the Geog teacher but I received a sms saying there was NCDCC training and porners will be dealt with. So I went for NCDCC and then all we did was move boxes for the Business @ School Presentations the next day. Anyway, I started work today at Jurong Point and it was damn fun. We got a introductory tour around the shopping mall and then we went to type stuff and cut things. [ I got a security pass too :) ]

Nike Air N’ Sight II

Yeah! The results are finally released and i did quite well and in fact sort of what i expected. Anyway, yesterday and today, I went on a wild shopping spree buying from LP zone yesterday and Nike today. I bought a Nike shoe from Queensway and i am going to get a bag soon. Anyway, my school had an Exodus concert which is organized by the Christian fellowship and I was the event I/C and helped out in the filming and the archiving of the whole event. Anyway, it was a free event and there was a huge turnout. I can wait for the holidays and hope everyone will have a blast. :)

Back from Perth

Hi All! I am back... The trip to Perth was very fun and i got to meet alot of new people. Anyway, I stayed in this apartment that was so lousy( Shall not name it for legal purposes but it starts with Mount and ends with Apartment)... The fan speed from 1-5 was like the same and like we had to lock the toilet with a can opener... Anyway, just to name a few friends i meet, they are phoebe, trinity, danni, hanna... Anyway, for the competition, I won the alternate competition and got a medal... The senior team that i went with won and are going to America and they are going with their own team of 6.. We had lots of sight seeing and shopping and we went to places like Subiaco market( Had to walk there on foot for 30 mins unlike the RGS Girls) and Freemantle... I bought the most things on the last day cause we went out early and ass the shops usually cloase at 6pm, I could not purchase anything on the previous day. I went to buy some Billabong and Ripcurl and it was very cheap compared to Singapore. Australia also has excellent TV as it imports movies such as Shrek 3, Oceans 13 and Disturbia. I will post some pics of the "Excellent" Hotel to let u all enjoy. Anyway, all these photos are from my friends because by SD card broke down during the trip and all photos got deleted... :(

WOA!!! SO MANY!!!!

Well, the whole of last week was very eventful. First, on Wednesday i had a charity cafe. My class sold polar cakes and it was a huge success. Although there were many mix ups due to the way polar packs. After that, my whole class rushed down to Mac Ritchie for our CIP which involved clearing some weeds. Apparently, there were some poisonous herbs as a classmate came into class with rashes today. Anyway, we finished fast and were able to persuade the teacher to let us go on the HSBC board walk. It was quick boring except for the suspension bridge which was Freaking HIGH!!! Then, on friday, i brought my sec 1 ncdcc cadets to the Civil Defence Academy. It was very exciting as i got to go t0 the furnace again which i went during a specialist course. We got to see fire over our heads and it was damn hot. Yawn... GOIng to sleep.,. Gd Night..........

Death Anniversary

Today is the death anniversary of my grandfather so we went to visit him. We were laying out the food when an army of ants literally attacked us. By the time the prayer was done, ants were all over the food. Anyway, I went for an extra competitive swimming lesson. The class was so pro as compared to my own... I am watching this new show on channel 5 called kyle XY . Its damn nice. every Sunday 4-5 i think.

Sorry for not posting the whole of last week as i had a busy week and i had a bad eye infection. Anyway, this week, the 24 competition has just ended today and i have good news to announce. Starting next week, i will be sworn in as the Vice President of Mpac. Anyway, After the 9th lesson of inline skating, i have mastered the skill and have bought a pair of skates(As seen above). This whole week is also busy as i have 5 work due on monday so i guess the 4 day holiday is gone. Anyway, heres taking time to wish all a HAppy National Day which my school celebrated today at queenstown along with all the other ACS schools. Today was both a enjoyable but unluck day. Today, our FPS teacher treated us all to a big breakfast set and a milo freeze from Macdonalds. But the unlucky thing about today was that i had MPAC duty and it sucked. We had to edit a video and after editing it, i tried to save and it HUNG!!! All my hardwork went dont the drain. I did this like 3 times before a successive save...Anyway, this whole week and the next got all the projects due and all the exams. Like right now, I am doing a draft project. But at the end of the next week, there is something to celebrate about. As some of you might know, my cca is Media Productions. We are going to organize a competition called 'twentyfour'. It will be a 24hour film making competition open to all schools but registration is already closed. Yesterday I went to watch harry potter at 9 and by the time i was home, it was like 12. The show was very nice but the theme was very dark.

Today, I had National Civil Defense Cadet Corp (NCDCC) drills for the NDP combined ACS parade at queenstown stadium. Anyway, I didn't have a proper lunch and i nearly fainted but feeling better now. Anyway, yesterday my father bought a hokkien CD with a song called jipaban which he heard from another CD which is lost. Today, I was supposed to go watch Harry Potter but my tutor realized she had something on so I am going next week. Anyway, this whole week is like damn stress as I have an A. Maths project and Chemistry Report due tomorrow. This Saturday, I also have FPS finals at RGS. So the only condolence I can offer myself is

Well, Today was like normal , except for this whole week i have an extensive future problem solving session. The competition is this Saturday at RGS... Anyway, I had a chat with my long time friend xiu jin... Although i am quite sure i used to spell it xiu jing. Anyways, She was like doing a project on sinks and being an acs boy, she assumed i knew everything about them...?? She was like do aluminum sinks exist and i was like checking wiki to help her. Anyway, we talked about other things and if any 6-5 04 students are out there, we should seriously plan an outing with EVERYONE in it... Anyway, expect the next post to be on Thursday or Friday after i got watch Harry Potter with my tuition teacher. Free treat!!! Caught a Movie

Today, I went to Yishun to watch Transformer... Man!!! It was damn nice!!! If u haven't watched it, u should! Anyway, When I came out of the cinema, I saw 2 wierd things. I saw a toy gun which says harmless although it can fire bullets and i saw a car with "the lost world" imprinted on it. Anyway, after the movie, I went to East Coast for my weekly Inline Skating Lessons. I am begginer so I DO fall. After that, I went for dinner with my father's friends and children and the only person i talk to is my friend and his sister who are teenagers like me. As for the rest, u can call them little children... THen I came back and i am typing this post at 9.53 watching the charity show on channel 8. GOing to do something else. Signing out.

Advanced Math lecture

So yesterday, i was like saying i was going to nanyang girls high school for a math lecture on time. The lecturer was an ang moh and the things he said was damn cheem. Some questions were like" Do you the arrow of time can be reversed?" I was like omg... I was baffled. Then we got split up and went to classrooms to discuss in groups of 4. My group was like a china guy from dunman, another indonesian or vietnam girl from NUS and a prefect from RGS. The guy and the RGS was like damn cheem and the other girl just keep quiet... Anyway, the only good thing was a nice video from youtube and i will try to show it to u...Wait for it to load, ITS WORTH IT!!!! BTW, the best part was that i got to skip my uniform group which was practicing for National Day Parade

Today was like any other day except i had to stay back for Media Productions (MPAC).
I stayed back for like 2 hours to extract a video which was like a waste of time. Tommorow, I got a lecture on time at Nanyang Girls. Omg, havent read up on it. Will write about Nanyang experience tommorow... Signing out.

Today, I went to RGS for the FPS(Future Problem Solving) resource day. Meet Li Mei there. The talk was damn boring and i was like falling asleep. My friends and i sneaked out for like 15mins for a toilet break and some chat. And I saw many lame posters of people running for elections. Some read ” The WEI is clear” and it was like so lame. But there was creativity. Hmm, my teacher was like asking us to socialise with the RGS girls thinking that ACS boys are so desperate??? Maybe he thinks ACS + RGS = perfect match as both are desperate??? THey also got a lady for AWARE to talk about Gender Prejudice when the topic is Cultural Prejudice???

Rugby Competition

On Thursday 18/8/2005, my whole school went to support our rugby team at Yio Chu Kang Stadium. Along with my friends, we took a bus to Dover MRT, then a train to Jurong East where we then changed trains to get to Yio Chu Kang Station. When I reached there, I saw another two schools competing. Pioneer Secondary School and another school.
Before the match started, my friends and I decided to go and look for food but we could not find any stalls.When we went back, we saw that a friend had bought some food and we asked him for the location of where he got the food. As his information was not clear, we went round in circles arround a building that was actually a indoor tennis court.We then reliased that the shop was at a neighbouring building.
We then bought some snacks and went back to the stadium.The match was againist St Andrews .When the match started, every watched in attention but after a few minutes, everyone started getting bored. As the first half passed, no major goals were score and that made everyone restless.
But when the second half started, the match got interesting.Soon the stadium was filled with "wah" and "oh".In the end, we trashed St Andrews with a score of 16:12 winning by 4 points.And then I went home... ...etc.

National Day Celebrations

On the day my school celebrated nation day which was 8/8/2005, I went to school at 6.30.I went to look for my teacher and went to the auditorium to set up the equipment. While my friends were watching the march past by the uniform groups, my team and I set the the equipment. I was in charge of the anycast station(refer to Media Production-New Machine).
After setting up, my music teacher requested to rehearse the National day song.Incase you do not know, my music teacher is Ms Elaine Chan who composed this year's National day song.(The one with Taufik and the Female actor from Mediacorp.)
After the rehearsal, the rest of the school came into the auditorium and the performance started. We had a Sword of Honour presentation and then the singing of the songs.(The sword was very sian!! 300+ people received award.)BUt the song was very nice.
After that, we had to stay back to pack up.But I was allowed to leave first as I wanted to go back to Pioneer.But when I got back to Pioneer, it was CLOSED(SOB SOB!!!!)

Media Production-New Machine

I am going to tell you about a new machine my school's Media Production team is going to buy.It is called a anycast station and it is made by Sony. It is about the size of a briefcase.I am going to tell you about the features it has.It has a robotics camera which you can control from it and you can plug in video cameras into it.I got to use it during my school's national day concert yesterday.Connected to it was two cameras and the robotic one.I used the machine to control the robotic camera and I was the co-producer of the whole operation.After telling you all this, I am going to tell you the cost. IT is priced at a amazing $35,000. (Please tell me what you think about the price!!)I will tell you more in my other article about what happened.Refer to Media Production-National Day concert.

Kranji War memorial Part 1

I went to Kranji War Memorial on Sunday 30/7/05 for my history project. We met at Kranji Mrt station.But before I reached there, my father took a wrong turn and ended up in the causeway but I still got to the Mrt station.Surprisingly, my friend Kenny and Vincent also went to the causeway but all of us got to the Mrt station.
We had to walk for about 5 minutes before we reached the memorial.As we entered the memorial,we saw the state cemetery.

We saw the grave of our Second President Dr Benjamin Henry Sheares and ...

... the grave of our First President Mr Yusok Bin Ishak.

We saw rolls and rolls of names and we saw a flower that was left by an ealier tourist whom we saw leaving when we enter.The Flower was however infested with ants.

Before we left for SGH, we took a group photo.

As we walked back to the MRT station, it started to rain but lucky us, we had umbrella.( But I did not bring.)

We then took a train to Outram Park Mrt Station and we to SGH.

We then went to Bowers Block which was a museum and then to the mistri wing.

We then went to another place and wanted to go back from there.But their navigation was go bad we walk in the wrong direction for 2 minutes before realising it.We then went our seperate ways and went home.(This picture can be found at Outram Park MRT and is dedicated to ACS students as our art teacher showed us this.)
